The project  will leverage long-read sequencing to detect structural variants (e.g., inversions, translocations) that might influence local adaptation. By examining how these chromosomal rearrangements impact genetic recombination and selection efficiency, the project will test their role in population expansion or extinction. This aspect is key to understanding genomic mechanisms underpinning ecological success in L. saxatilis.
