Genotypes

This project employs comprehensive genomic analysis to unravel the genetic factors shaping the evolutionary trajectories of Littorina saxatilis. By leveraging long-read sequencing to detect structural variants and short-read resequencing for fine-scale genomic variation, we will capture the full spectrum of genetic diversity. Integrating this data with environmental and phenotypic information allows us to investigate how genetic architectures, such as chromosomal rearrangements and genetic load, influence colonization outcomes.

Chromosomal Rearrangement

The project  will leverage long-read sequencing to detect structural variants (e.g., inversions, translocations) that are know crucial in Littorina saxatilis and might influence local adaptation. By examining how these chromosomal rearrangements impact genetic recombination and selection efficiency, the project will test their role in population expansion or extinction.
